How to Embrace Your Unapologetic Era

What is an Unapologetic Era and how should you embrace it? An Unapologetic Era in a person's life is marked by self-acceptance, boldness, and authenticity.

It's when you stop apologizing for who you are, what you want, and how you choose to live. This era is characterized by a strong sense of self-worth and the confidence to make decisions that align with your true desires and needs, without seeking approval from others.

How to Embrace Your Unapologetic Era

Every decade of your life, you have changed or grown for the better. In our 40s, we start to evaluate everything in life especially our connections with others and ourselves. You probably have noticed that you care less about what society expects this age is supposed to be. Instead, we start to understand what really matters and part of that is personal life satisfaction.

This is when your life truly is about you and paves the way for an era of living unapologetically.

Grab Attention: You Deserve This!

Ever feel like you're just not giving yourself enough credit? Well, it’s time to step up and shine! Your unapologetic era starts now, and here’s how you make it all about you, unapologetically.

Increase Interest: Know Your Worth

Start by recognizing and valuing your unique experiences, wisdom, and insights. This isn't just self-love talk—it’s about building a foundation for an unapologetically life. Own your value, charge tax and then repeat!

Stir Desire: Set Those Boundaries

It’s time to say "no" more often—no to energy drainers and yes to what makes you happy. Setting clear boundaries is your way of taking charge of your mental and emotional health. This is self-respect in action!

Fuel Desire: Chase What Lights You Up

What’s that dream you’ve shelved? Have they collected dust? Take it off the shelf and get to it. Whether it’s launching a business, starting a hobby, or booking that trip—now is your moment. Pursue what brings you joy with zero guilt. You’ve earned it!

Spark Action: Be Kind to Yourself

Let’s cut out the self-criticism. Embrace your flaws and forgive your mistakes. Self-compassion is your secret weapon. They say depression comes from focusing on the past and anxiety is from worrying about the future. You can't change either so be kind to yourself and be your own cheerleader!

Encourage Response: Speak Your Truth

Now more than ever, your voice matters. Speak your mind boldly and live your truths. This is what standing your ground looks like in your unapologetic era.

Inspire Action: Celebrate Every Win

Take time to recognize all your achievements, big or small. Celebrating yourself isn't about ego, it is about knowing you have done a whole lot in your life. Sometimes, the battery in you back needs to be charged BY YOU.

Drive Action: Welcome Change

Embrace the new, change things up, and step out of your comfort zone. Growth is about change, and your unapologetic era is the perfect time.

But Seriously...

I've seen too many small businesses, friends, family, and folks online taking breaks—or in some cases, closing their doors for good. As someone who's dedicated the past decade to empowering others, this hits close to home. I get the frustration and the need for rest all too well.

You know that overwhelming need for a pause? I've been there. But rather than pushing myself to the brink, I've started tuning in more attentively to my own needs. Recently, I've jumped into juicing, and every Friday, I share a new recipe with the Akanni Woman Facebook group, detailing the health benefits of each ingredient.

Embracing my unapologetic era means recognizing what's beneficial for me and incorporating it in a way that resonates with my lifestyle. I’ve discovered that certain combinations of fruits, vegetables, and herbs particularly support menopausal health, especially this mood thing. Juicing has been a fantastic way for me to easily absorb the nutrients I need. Definitely a must try in your unapologetic era.

For me, living unapologetically also means letting go of pursuits that ultimately don't matter. Living this way isn't just about enduring life's highs and lows; it's about thriving through them. It means being authentic, finding joy in that, and not needing anyone's approval but your own. For us, this isn't just a stage of life—it's a full-blown revolution.

Welcome to your unapologetic era! xoxoxo-V
