Celebrating World Menopause Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️💜

Every year, World Menopause Day is celebrated on October 18th to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and shine a light on the support available to women navigating menopause. The International Menopause Society (IMS) and the World Health Organization (WHO) recognize October as World Menopause Awareness Month, making it the perfect time to start important conversations.

The goal? It’s simple:

  • Improve your health and well-being during and after menopause.

  • Break the silence and erase the stigma around menopause.

  • Raise awareness about common menopause symptoms.

  • Highlight the support options that can make this journey easier.

Menopause typically occurs between the ages of 45 and 55 when estrogen levels decline, bringing physical and emotional changes. While this stage can bring challenges like hot flashes and mood swings, it’s also a time for self-discovery and empowerment. Some women even experience it as a relief—freedom from monthly cycles and a chance to focus on their well-being.

This year’s World Menopause Day theme highlights the link between menopause and Cardiovascular Disease—the leading cause of death for women globally. This is your reminder to focus not just on managing symptoms but also on taking care of your heart health.

Since we’re in the middle of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it’s a great time to check in on your health:

  • Book that mammogram if you haven’t already.

  • Do a self-exam and know what’s normal for you.

  • Start a conversation with your loved ones about menopause and breast health.

💬 What does menopause mean to you? Share your experience or tag a friend to join the conversation—let’s break the silence together!
